 1. EXPERTISE - We have over 100 years of experience on staff and have helped to raise over $100,000,000 for churches. We have been through many difficult challenges and have a tremendous depth of knowledge regarding what works in a church capital campaign. Our success is based on experience, graduate academic training in organizational development and the latest research on "why people donate".

2. SUCCESSFUL TRACK RECORD - Our average church raises 300% of annual giving in a capital campaign. We have raised as much as 700% of
annual giving in a capital campaign, and many of our churches report an increase in annual giving of 10% in the year following commitment Sunday. We like to think that we will raise the most money possible in any given situation because we devote such attention to listening to our donors. The real measure of success is: How do members feel after the campaign is over? Our best references are the many pastors who say when the campaign is over "We should have a capital campaign every 5 years whether we need the money or not, because we now have such great community spirit."

3. COMMUNITY BUILDING FOCUS - After years of experience we have discovered that if we focus on building the strength of the church community, the donations will flow. Based on sound academic research on techniques for building the cohesiveness of a group, our processes for questioning, listening, dialog, visioning, involving and working together result in a church that is much stronger after a campaign than it is before.

4. SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT FOCUS - At the core, at the center of every campaign is: Prayer, seeking to align one's self with the divine, a deliberate, communal focus that gets everyone praying in the same direction. This alone will transform a church and usually there is a tangible result of the prayer and activities. Stewardship education can be a joyful experience of discovery of the power of doing God's will. One of our top goals is to introduce the non-donors to the almost mystical joy of pure altruism. There is no greater experience than to discover what it is like to become an instrument of God's will. Hopefully, this capital campaign will be a life changing experience for some of your people. Ideally we will facilitate a paradigm shift in the thinking about giving to the church. When people drop the notion that it is a tax or penalty and embrace that it is a "spiritual investment" that will yield "spiritual prosperity" for a lifetime, then we will have truly been a success.

5. VISION FOCUS - Proverbs 29:18 - "Where there is no vision, the people perish." The first step in the process is to define what success will look like for the church. Noted author Scott Peck states in his book on community building "… there is no greater way to build community than to engage every member in the discussion about 'what is our vision'." Once consensus is reached, we refer back to the vision that we are seeking to implement throughout the campaign.

6. TAILORED APPROACH - Each church is unique in its needs. The personality of the church must be respected and its needs met. One size does not fit all. We spend a great deal of time and effort developing a unique plan for each church. This plan incorporates the activities and timing that will meet the needs of the church.

7. PERSONALIZED ATTENTION - Each of our consultants has a workload of only 2 - 3 churches at any given time. Most other consulting firms have a workload of 10 - 20 churches at a time, per consultant. We spend more time, more attention to detail and follow through than is the norm.

8. PASSION - Our consultants/campaign facilitators all have come to TCDF with a mission in mind. They all want to serve churches. We all have unique skills in fundraising, and all of us want to work in the church world for spiritual reasons. It is a great joy to be able to do what you were made to do while in a spiritual context.

9. COST - As a nonprofit organization, we set our prices as low as possible so that every church can afford top quality campaign assistance. Our cost for the basic level of service is significantly lower than other campaign consultants.

10. COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES are available. Rather than burn out your pastor, our staff can complete every task planned in the 500 - 700 hours usually required to manage a campaign. We can do as little as the standard consulting service in which we guide and coach you to success, and as much as hands on management of every detail, attending every event and if needed create a video or DVD.
