Planned Giving Management
Well-executed stewardship planning can provide three important benefits:
- A funding stream for future growth and needs
- Increased member awareness of current church ministries and needs to grow levels of giving
- The opportunity for individuals to support a ministry they love while receiving significant tax benefits
Church Development's planned giving program is designed to foster long–term stewardship planning and to stabilize a church's financial future. We provide valuable resources to build a basic planned giving program and paid services to build a more comprehensive stewardship planning program.
Planned giving services should commence after the church's capital campaign, and can include, among others:
- Identifying, training and facilitating a volunteer team for planned giving
- On–going, on–site consultation with the church planned giving team to establish goals, objectives, strategy and a detailed calendar
- Consultation and advice on creating policies and procedures for gift acceptance and establishing endowments and legacy societies
- Comprehensive training for the pastor and planned giving committee in the financial and spiritual benefits of philanthropy
- Identifying, researching and rating planned giving prospects
- Assisting with planning and implementation of an estate planning event featuring an estate planning professional
- Creation and design of marketing materials, including brochures and two newsletters
- Overall management of the planned giving program strategy
- Training and coaching for the church leaders in donor cultivation, stewardship education and solicitation
- Establishing an ongoing system for implementing comprehensive stewardship planning
