Matt Schoenfeld, MA - Senior Consultant & Operations Director

Matt has served hundreds of churches as a stewardship trainer and consultant since 1996. Having worked in the mutual fund industry and as a church administrator, he brings more than 25 years of management and ministry experience to helping churches manage capital campaigns.

Matt has designed and created Church Development’s year-round stewardship program, The Stewardship System. In addition to directing this ministry that helps churches build a year round culture of generosity (www.stewardshipsystem.org) , he also serves as the Director of Operations for Church Development, coordinating our marketing efforts, web development, capital campaign administration, and special projects.

Matt has written 17 books and curriculums on stewardship and personal finance, including: Abundant Living: Five Biblical Principles for Financial Success, Living Debt Free, Learning to Invest, Managing Your Money, Hidden Treasures (small group bible study), and the Abundant Living personal finance seminar curriculum. He is also the founder and Executive Director of the Abundant Living Ministry (www.abundantlivingministry.org). He is currently working on a children’s book trilogy about stewardship titled My Dog Mulligan starring his Westie, Sir Mulligan Holy Terrier.

Matt holds a master’s degree in business from Webster University and bachelor of arts degrees in Theology, Church History, and Biblical Studies and Communications from Baylor University.

In his free time, Matt enjoys coaching his kids’ basketball teams, playing hoops, backgammon, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers and the KU Jayhawks. Matt also is the co-author of the Kansas University fight song, “I’m a Jayhawk.” He lives with his family in Countryside, Kansas.
